Mr. Hickey's emphasis is in the area of insurance coverage and related litigation. He represents and advises clients in a number of areas, including general liability coverages, environmental and toxic tort, directors and officers, cargo, workers compensation, professional liability, excess, umbrella and reinsurance. Property projects have included general property, time element losses, crime, inland marine, and in a number of the more specialized property coverages. Mr. Hickey represents and advises clients on life and disability coverages, both with respect to individual and group policies, and as they impact employee benefit plans.

Mr. Hickey was previously of counsel to Hanson Bridgett in San Francisco, CA. Prior to Hanson Bridgett, he was a principal at Trucker Huss, also in San Francisco, specializing in insurance coverage and employee benefits issues. After law school, Mr. Hickey was an associate in the insurance section at Cooley, Godward, Castro, Huddleston & Tatum until becoming an Assistant District Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco. He left the District Attorney's Office as a senior attorney to re-enter civil practice.

Mr. Hickey writes and lectures on insurance issues, and is or has been a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco; CPCU Society; National Freight Claims and Security Council; Western Pension & Benefits Conference; Property Claims Association of the Pacific; and the Loyal Order of the Blue Goose.
